Santa, Sorting Hats, and Spreading Cheer: MVCU’s Brings Back Annual Holiday Parties After Hiatus

“The best way to spread holiday cheer is celebrating with members far and near!”

This month, MVCU was thrilled to bring back an exciting tradition: holiday celebrations at our corporate offices! After a two-year hiatus, MVCU kicked off the month of December by decorating its Lawrence and Bridgewater offices and inviting members to come by for a weekend filled with holiday activities.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Lawrence corporate office turned into a sparkling winter wonderland, decked with hundreds of wrapped presents, friendly elves, glistening tinsel, candy canes, holiday-themed photo backdrops and a huge Christmas tree complete with snow and gifts underneath. The party featured a live DJ, face-painting, games, crafts, candy-filled goodie bags, a station to write letters to Santa, and of course, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

“Our Passion Committee worked so diligently to create a festive holiday celebration in both Lawrence and Bridgewater,” says Brad Egan, MVCU’s CLO and corporate strategy executive vice president. “What a success! Both teammates and community families were able to enjoy a little holiday cheer as well as have a picture with Santa. Even I had my picture with Santa and a chance to make a few special holiday requests! (But that’s between me and Santa…). Congratulations to all the volunteers and participants for a great day. What truly wonderful events, I can’t wait for next year!”

In Bridgewater the following Sunday, Harry Potter fans were in for a treat! The office was transformed into the wizarding world of Hogwarts, where attendees walked through Diagon Alley and enjoyed enchanting Harry Potter-themed decorations—including a Christmas tree topped with the Sorting Hat. Children received their own wands, wrote letters to Santa, designed a Hogwarts house crest, and got crafty by making owl ornaments, magic potions and a holder for their wands. And no holiday party is complete without visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, who also paid a visit to our Bridgewater office.

“The potions and wands were a huge hit,” says marketing specialist Olivia Pink, who led the planning and decorating of Bridgewater’s party alongside Loan Production Officer Amanda Prew. “We had one family ask their parents to go back the next day to make more, so it was very cute! Overall, it was a great day!”

Thank you so much to all those who attended this year’s holiday celebrations. MVCU is thrilled to share these special moments with our credit union members and community members alike. If you couldn’t make it this year, stay tuned, for we’ll be back next year!

We hope you'll enjoy some highlights from each party below. From our entire team at MVCU, we wish you a safe and happy holiday season!
