How long will it take to receive a vehicle title when I pay off my auto loan?

The length of the process depends on which state you live in.

In Massachusetts, if you pay off your loan with a secure form of payment (i.e. a bank check), the title will be converted from electronic to physical and mailed to you.  This process can take seven to 10 business days.  If you pay off your loan with a non-secure form of payment (i.e. a personal check), the payment will be held for 10 business days.  The title will then be converted from electronic to physical and mailed to you.  This process can take up to 20 days.

In New Hampshire, the titles are held at the credit union.  If you pay off your loan with a secure form of payment, the title will be mailed to you on the same business day.  This can take between three to five days.  If you pay off your loan with a non-secure form of payment, the payment will be held or 10 business days, and then the title will be mailed to you.  This process can take take between 13 and 15 days.

If you have not received your title by the end of the time frame outlined for your state, please contact Loan Servicing at (800) 356-0067 for more details.
