Highlighting the Achievements of Women in Our Community

MVCU is proud to highlight the achievements of small business owners in our community. Meet Evelyn, owner of Hair’s Evelyn Salon in Waltham, MA.

Here’s what Evelyn had to say about how working with MVCU has helped her and her Salon over the years:

“We have had four generations of active members at MVCU. My husband and two children are active members along with most of our extended family, as well. We all have our car loans, student loans, mortgage, home equity line of credit and more at MVCU, and all these processes were made easy due to the helpful staff at MVCU. MVCU has helped me at my salon over the past 35 years numerous times with my banking needs. Through the tough times during COVID especially, mainly securing financial assistance to help keep my business afloat”.

Millie Zayas, VP of Member Experience, has played a pivotal role in Evelyn’s journey with MVCU, offering guidance and support. “We have known Millie Zayas forever,” Evelyn recalls, “and when she initiated the school savings program at Waltham’s Elementary Schools, my kids loved it and immediately became little savers.” Millie’s dedication to initiatives like the school savings program reflects MVCU’s commitment to empowering individuals and fostering financial literacy within the community.

We celebrate Evelyn’s inspiring journey as a shining example of the remarkable achievements of small business owners in our community. Through Evelyn’s experience and the dedicated support of MVCU team members like Millie Zayas, MVCU continues its unwavering commitment to helping our members achieve their financial goals, both at home and at work.
